Meet the Team

Stefan Winkler is an established research leader with experience in both industry and academia.
He is a Professor in the Engineering Cluster at the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) and Adjunct Associate Professor in the School of Computing at the National University of Singapore (NUS). Prior to joining SIT, he was Research Director of Asus Intelligent Cloud Services (AICS) and Deputy Director at AI Singapore; he co-founded two start-ups (Opsis and Genista) and worked for a Silicon Valley company.

Dr. Winkler has a Ph.D. degree from the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, Switzerland, and a Dipl.-Ing. (M.Eng./B.Eng.) degree from the Technische Universität (TU) Wien, Austria. He is a Fellow of IEEE and AAIA and has published over 180 papers. He has also contributed to international standards in VQEG, ITU, ATIS, VSF, and SCTE.
